Summer has arrived and it was on the lips of everyone. I walked in the park with Hazel, as usual. I've been taking to the grass, too - easier on the knees, you know. I suppose I need to send a progress video soon.
'Course, the extra sun does cost me some time to keep my plants watered but the dividends are worth it. For instance, today I took a tart out of the freezer so I could back it for lunch. Low and behold, it is merely tart crust! As I read the ingredients on the side, I realized I could actually make a tart (quiche) from the ingredients I had in my fridge and balcony garden. And so I did - not a whole one, only enough for one person. What a treat!
Around 4p.m., Nico took me to a little place around the corner so I could finally buy a new parasol for the balcony. I get direct sun so hot between 4 and 8 p.m., there's just no sitting out there at all. When opened, it will also help keep the temperature lower in the livingroom. Won't have any effect on the tomatoes and such since their on the other side of the balcony. Nico needs to make a few adjustments and then it will be ready. Hopefully by Friday, it will be good to go.
After the parasol trip, we went by a sporting goods store that is also in the neighborhood. I got a pair of shorts and had a good look around. They did have quite a few items on sale. I'll be checking that out later as I want to have comfortable clothes for going back to work. Now that I've gotten used to "stretch" pants, I have no desire to go back!
A full day of therapy tomorrow. No big plans for the weekend as of yet though Nico does keep bringing up camping in Belgium. We'll just have to wait and see.
