It's been a good day, somewhat restful, somewhat busy. Nico took some things down to the storage room for me while I met with a rep from MEE, a national organization that assists the disabled. They're also going to help me (grin).
Nico's been walking Hazel for me every morning and evening. And when I have time and feel up to it I walk with him. The last time I went, I was able to walk the whole way, getting tired only a few yards from the entrance to the apartment building.
Nico and I also decided, with my friends coming next week (whoa), that I will try to rent a scootmobile. That way, we can get around town a bit quicker and easier. Until I can get an electrical outlet placed in the storage room, I'll charge it in Nico's shed. Whatever works, right?
Monday was a good day at therapy. I had good energy in the morning. It was a nice start to the week (not like most Mondays, right?). Tuesday started earlier than usual so I was a bit tired instead. And I had five appointments, as well. Tomorrow is my last day of therapy this week. Swimming. Woohoo!
Loopgroep went a bit easier with my new shoes. I still think the shoes are a bit big but for now I'm trying to give them the benefit of the doubt.
And did I mention I was taking fall practice (i.e. I've fallen and I can get up!)? It's actually a lot of fun. We get to fall back on this really huge, blue mat. And the trainers are all from sports and fitness, young silly people.
For the first time, a young lady came to clean my apartment today. She will come weekly for 2-3 hours and will clean whatever needs doing including windows. For six months to a year. Bonus. And she not only likes dogs, she owns two that are the same make and model as my pooch. Rottweiler. Only problem is she speaks no English. I just pointed and said clean this, this and this.
Now that it's clean, the apartment looks almost close to finished. The only thing I lack is still the den. By the time my pals are here, it'll be ship shape.
Speaking of pals, thank you for being one and checking in with me again. If you check in tomorrow, look for a special b-day shout-out.
Can you rent two extra scootmobiles for us??? :)) Sounds like you're in better spirits. Everything is still looking up for my being able to come over-- flights are looking pretty empty. woo hoo!!!! I can't believe it's only a week away! Yea!!
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait! Just had a thought - are we going to be coming with you to any therapy while we are there? Do they allow that or would you want that? I would not mind seeing you in action if you are o.k. with it :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you are getting stronger everyday. We love you and thought about you while we were out skiing. Missed the map lady. Hope to have you with us again some day!
Love and such!
S :)
Fall practice sounds like fun. Maybe somewhat like that beanbag that was in your family room. Remember it? I don't recall you falling on it just jumping. I am glad you have a clean place. Enjoy your visitors. Love & Prayers Dale & Nancy
