THURSDAY
It will be four days that I've been using the orthesis now and it's going well. It will certainly take some time to get used to it but it has made a lot of my standing activities feel more safe and sturdy.

Hamlapje and runderlapje
These are the two types of meat slabs that I have to choose from tonight - ham "steak" and beef "steak". I have seen these two things appear together as the main choices at least 5 times. They are accompanied, naturally, by some type of potatoes (or ardappels).

There are so many more reasons to should want to leave Blixembosch klinik but I have to admit that getting away from farmer food tops the list.

Birthday wishes
...to an old friend (who is one year older today). Hope things are going well for you and you find some joy on your birthday.

FRIDAY
It snowed a little today and they said it might be cold enough for snow to stick tomorrow. I haven't been outside so I don't know how it feels but it's cozy enough inside. I actually had been wishing for snow (for Christmas). I guess I got my wish early.

Nico will be picking me up this evening and this weekend we'll be finalizing packing my house. I'll be glad to soon have a break from working hard on weekends and can just concentrate on working hard Monday-Friday.

My substitute therapist, Wouter, today encouraged me to take up Nordic walking. That's something isn't it? He thinks it might help me to work out a more rhythmic walk. It really says something about how much I've progressed in my walking since the orthesis was put in, I started fitness and swimming.

Have a great weekend and keep in touch!

  1. I'm glad the orthesis is working for you and making you feel more safe and secure. And be grateful that those dinner choices only came around 5 times and not once a week or more! ;)

  3. Rhonda, sorry I haven't written in a while. Seems my life gets busier & busier (is that a word???) Glad to hear you are making great progress with your leg & foot. I keep up with you through your mom. We still are keeping you in our prayers. Hope to see you if you get to come home for Christmas. Love, Gary & Sharon
