Let it snow!

Wishes do come true
I wished for snow last week and this weekend I got it. It started Friday night to lightly blanket the houses and trees. Then it began again in earnest again on Sunday, thick and fast. Nico was nervous to drive through the snow Sunday night but no need; we made it without a hitch.

And, this morning, it snows again. Beautiful to watch especially when there is no prospect of having to somehow traverse through it.

Moving...
Well, my things are more or less packed and waiting to be picked up by the movers on Friday. I won't be taking the day off to go help, Nico will have that duty. The movers will then drop off everything sometime Monday.

I am really excited to be moving. But seeing all that hadn't been touched since the last move was unsettling. Of course, there will be things that you carry with you in life that don't get used every day or even once a year but they seem to weigh a bit more each time you move them. I can at least take comfort that, with me, there's no threat of them being carried off by an Illinois tornado.

A stiff leg all weekend
I wore my orthesis the whole weekend and the only negative side affect is it makes my heel sore after wearing a long time. But otherwise it is a fantastic device. And, as Nico says, if that's all it takes to help me walk, we'll take it. It's still going to take some time to master more movements than just walking but I've got time and teacher for that.

Videos
We made a couple videos again. I was a bit nervous about walking on the snow but it wasn't slippery at all. Enjoy and see how much I've improved since my last video on October 28! (The first two videos are for those with Broadband, the last Dial-up.)

It hit me the other day that we won't get to see you over the holidays like we usally do, which bummed me out. :( But I'm glad to see you're improving so much. Thanks to Nico for all the tremendous help he has been to you!!
