Ouch!

Yesterday, I had an appointment at 1p.m. with the upright piano at Blixembosch. After attempting to pick out a few old tunes, I was catapulted backwards onto the floor after I tried to push myself away from the keyboard.

Apparently a leg on the piano bench was weak and broke off and I ended up landing hard on my tailbone. Yes, intense, major ouch. During the fall, both shoulders were also somehow affected also. So, I'm pretty well in pain all over and will be until I heal.

December 4, the day of deliverance

Nico and I had a conference with a crew of people yesterday to talk about my progress and when I can expect to transition into the rest of my life after Blixembosch. December 4 is the expected begin date, just three days after I move into my new apartment. Good timing. I don't know how long it will take to transition home - however long it takes until I feel like I can handle life on my own again.

Weekend report
Another good and busy weekend. The visit to the hair dresser and shopping afterwards was fun. I even got to go to the bagel shop for a bite to eat beforehand and buy some fresh Italian goodies from the Italian shop near the office before going home. Juul was a trooper. We both got cut, color and eyebrow jobs and came away feeling girly. Pictures to come.

Saturday wore me out so Sunday was slow to get started. But we made some progress on the move, taking out furniture that I won't be keeping, filing a huge stack of papers and tuning guitars. I even gave Nico a little lesson on strings, bars, frets, chords and tuning. Don't look for any albums being made any time soon.

To all my compatriots on Election Day

If you haven't already, I hope you get out and vote today. I filled out my ballot and sent it in over a month ago. It is especially meaningful to vote from Holland where interest in the outcome of the election is high.
