Just the usual cleaning lady day. However, it IS the last cleaning day before I take my trip to the states so it is kinda special. I've been also cleaning up, folding laundry and beginning to think about packing.
First things first
I do have one small distraction before I let myself completely get into last minute details: baking. I decided to make chocolate chip cookies and a blackberry pie (braamen vlaai) as going away treats for Blixembosch friends. Joy does come from giving. Thanks to those of you who gave me the chocolate chips! I'll have just enough left to make a batch for Nico one of these days, too.
Color coordinating
After that project ends, I can move on to finding a swim suit which could be difficult given shops have turned to autumn clothing already. But I'm sure the sports shop will still have something. I hope to have my new brace by Friday so I can take it with me.
I still need to find a dress for Steph's wedding, too, though I'm leaning toward just buying a pair of white leggings to match a dress I bought for last summer's trip to the U.S. Steph doesn't care what I wear as long as I'm there.
Gimme a break!
Cooler temps in the sixties this week come perfectly timed in alignment with the breaking down of my scoot mobile which has required me to walk the dog, literally. The scoot breakdown also has required me to take my ligfiets for longer trips. For sure, this mishap is good for exercise but, gee, it would be nice to have the option.
This is the way it has been since last Wednesday afternoon. The service person is scheduled to come tomorrow, that is if they get here in time before I leave for therapy. Fingers crossed.
Blackberry pie sounds fantastic! Anna and I did some "procrastibaking" yesterday too ;) Thanks to my friend Cindy for the term which is truly spot on!
ReplyDeleteWe can't wait to see you at the wedding. Will you have access to computers and/or a phone so we can get in touch with you to give you the travel details, etc.?
See ya soon!
Love,
