Twofer: Thursday and Friday

Lots of photos in this issue. Enjoy. Above, Gram with the Delft Blauw pottery I gave her after a while back and roses from her garden. Tomorrow... the Parton Fish Fry and Homecoming Bluegrass Sunday.

Thursday, May 14
Up before seven again. I’m really on my vacation time routine – except for going back to sleep after a walk on the beach.

Had the last of Gram’s cherry nut bread with cream cheese and strawberries for breakfast. Missing my cappuccino.

Dad and Mom got a call from Gram that her toilet was no longer flushing. They new it had to be more tree roots. Though they had chopped down the troublesome culprits, the roots were still alive and causing trouble every few weeks. They'd tried it the easy way which wasn't working. So, Dad decided he needed to dig it out. They rest of us could do little but offer moral support, and glasses of water.

The big glob of tree roots Dad finally yanked out of the pipes was seven feet long.
Updated blog then went back to help Gram make dinner of chicken and dressing. It was a lucky coincidence that Gram had her turn making dinner as Mom was completely under it being Dad’s assistant for the day. After at least eight hours of hacking and digging in the muck, the line was once again clear.

Somehow all the togetherness of the moment made this my favorite day of the week.

Friday, May 15
Went with mom and Gram through their usual Friday routine. While we were at the home of Gram’s hairstylist, I shot these pictures of a gorgeous, huge moth Mom spotted in the driveway. Nico would be envious (and would have wanted us to leave him behind while he shot a million photos). This was when I discovered the awesome capabilities of Mom’s Canon Powershot – you can even see the black claws the moth put into my arm to hold onto it.
Then we were off to shop – Aldi’s then Kroger (bargains then must haves). Afterwards, we went to Wendy’s for lunch.

In the evening for dinner and visiting, I went to Gary and Jennifer’s house. Jordan was a sweetie pie and she has a little dog that is just her size. Jennifer’s brother Jeremy and his wife Ally were there as well as a couple of other friends (whose names I can't recall now). I had a great time chilling out, eating fried everything and pork steak with cheesecake bits for dessert.

  1. I had no idea tree roots could continue to cause trouble even after the trees were down. Learned something new. I'm glad you're getting lots of love and attention at home. Nico's not going to know what to do with you now that you've gotten all spoiled. :)
