Therapy
Started with the end of duurbelasting and good riddance. Although, I did get something productive done during today's session - planning for my upcoming trip. Somewhere in the move, I lost my perpetual packing list that I've been growing for many years. So, I had to start a new one plus make a list of what needs doing before I leave town. Some things never change.
I'll admit, I did get some handy advice out of duurbelasting. They'll provide me with a report (in Dutch, of course) but here's just a few points to remember: relax more when I'm at "work" to avoid the pressure that I put on myself when I am "working" which doesn't feel good (which is why I treat "work" as a 4-letter word), that to enjoy what I'm doing at any given moment I need to be in the moment to avoid anxiety about some thing that may never happen, that I need to work in shorter time increments, take more breaks (preferably out of doors) and that I get just as fatigued performing mental tasks as physical ones.
"I'm really looking forward to going back to work," she says with tepid snarkiness.
Then came physiotherapy. Titia, of course. Apparently King the Fish was ejected from the pond for lack of personality. Well, I don't know why he's gone exactly but I'm not caring much. Anyway, it was a good session. We talked about my shrinking calf muscle and how it is important to walking. We'll be getting more into that tomorrow, I'm sure, but I put my mind to it on the treadmill today. Feels promising. More later.
Had a leisurely 2-hour session in fitness afterwards. Treadmill, as stated, then most of the machines. Good deal.
In ergotherapy, I talked a lot with Nike interjecting occasionally. Once, to tell me that she was trying to negotiate a longer session in which we could go escalator riding. Woohoo! Strap your boots on girls. We're goin' to the mall!
At home
Got one coat of paint on one side of the final chair today. As Steph intimated, at a time when it would be easier to buy new chairs and perhaps ones that are a bit more trendy, I will be glad I took the time to make them, if not good as new, good again.
Nordic walking, walked Hazel, Casper and Nico, transplanted some tomatoes, ate leftovers, watched Tolle dvd and snacked on popcorn.
Final comment
Thanks to all you who voted on the new template. Seems you're all amenable to it. Great. So you won't mind if I change it again? Just kidding.
"Tepid snarkiness" - you had me with that one - love it! So does that mean you are going back to the office in Eindhoven? Or are you going to work from home or how are they going to work that for ya?
ReplyDeleteWork that calf muscle girl… you betta WORK! (snaps fingers in an arc above her head)
Love and such,
S :)

LOL! Snarkiness! I love it!! I can't stop giggling at you today.
Thanks for the laughs!
Oh yeah-- I forgot--- OH NO!!!!! THE LIST IS GONE!!!!!!! I know you must be mourning the loss of the infamous list, but think of all the fun you'll have coming up with new and different things for it. Add a snorkel mask and flippers to it just for fun. :)
