Therapy
It was a wonderful Thursday therapy, as usual. One last day of King the fishiotherapist, Titia returns on Tuesday. We have Monday off for Paas, their word for Easter.
Then, because I switched my swimming day to tomorrow, I had a leisurely 3 hours within which to get through a boatload of fitness. All the machines plus loopband and rowing. Somewhere in there, I had time to eat lunch and get the contact info for a fun-loving patient who was there on her last day. She's been in my painting group and she's just so delightful. More people to love!
Of course, after that I had loopgroep in which I had one on one with Ingrid who was my fysiotherapist 2 weeks before Titia. She and I had a blast together then so I'm blessed to get to hang out with her again this way. We walked in the Blixembosch (thunder forest) and talked for 40 minutes in perfect springtime weather.
Finally, I had a great ride on the sport bike with Nick. That was probably around 40 minutes also. The bike chain popped off but we made it back without incident, thankfully.
Home
I was so glad to arrive home and see my boy, Hazel, so anxious for some lovin' from mommy. Since I wasn't able to drop him off at Nico's, he was home alone all day. (He was a sweetie pie until he laid down in the lake on our walk. I think he misses his old dog stink.) We ate dinner then went for our usual walk with Nico. The weather, as I say, was perfect. I had to unzip my jacket as we were walking. Imagine.
I just finished my salad with warm shrimp and noodles (lekker!). Now I'm watching the Lake House on TV, computering, washing doggie towels (arg) and waiting for Sunday when I will open my Paas packages (I haven't even peeked. The bunny is watching.).
Bless you all for keeping track of my progress. Today was a really good day. I often grumble out of bed with no energy but somehow, rather than with 'rest', I work hard and I feel great. (I don't believe I'll ever be happy with a desk job again.)
Friday
Tomorrow comes meditation and swimming. Meditation is not new for me but I'd never taken a class specifically in it. I've been wanting to learn a good method for it, something consistent and practical to implement. I think it's finally arrived. Keep in touch!
Proud of you for: not peeking
ReplyDelete: sticking with bike ride after popping chain
: looking up more people to love
: doing boatload of fitness
: looking forward to swimming & meditation

Lekker(shaking hand by face) indeed! Sounds good - I think I need to go have b-fast…
ReplyDeleteGood on ya for not opening your package yet! The kids picked a few of the items out for you specifically - see if you can tell which is which when you open it (hee hee hee!)
I used to do meditation as part of my yoga class. LOVED that part - 1/2 hour at the beginning and end. It was so wonderful - and I always wanted to tape my instructors voice as it was so soothing… now I wish I had! Enjoy it and gooooooooo with the flooooooooooow…
Love ya!

So are the Paas egg decorating kits from Holland, then? Makes me wonder.....
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you enjoyed your bike ride-- It sounds like this particular bike may have been better than the others (broken chain notwithstanding) since you were able to ride for so long and enjoy it so much.
I'm so glad you're making more friends and just enjoying yourself!
Poor Hazel alone all day. :( He misses his mommy and best bud, Casper, I'm sure.
Glad you're enjoying the spring weather. I can never get enough of it once it finally turns!
