Another birthday shout-out to our own international man, Todd S. Todd recently traveled to China with our lovely friend, Mary, to finalize her adoption of Harry, her two year-old son. Hartelijk gefeliciteerd, mijn vriend! Eet smakelijk ;)
Cooking is where it's at
It's autumn and the activity people (or what I refer to as the "cruise directors") are using it as a theme for weeks now. This week, they have two activities around pumpkins - soup and jack-o-lanterns. This morning, I dropped in to help stir the ingredients for the soup (didn't get there in time to scoop the goodies out of the pumpkin).
Every activity is a therapeutic one, you know. So, I used the opportunity to walk to the counter and stand for a good 15 minutes while stirring onions, tomato puree, water and pumpkin chunks to a boil. This afternoon, I'll have a bowl full while I work on something crafty or artsy-fartsy. Yum!
