No, I'm not trying to give myself a hard time. I'm describing what I did in pysiotherapy today: laying on my stomach and bending my knee so my foot moved toward my no-longer-shrinking right buttock. This exercise was performed to check whether or not I actually could make this movement which is important to lifting my foot during the "swing" phase of walking.
An interesting observation
The good news is that I could do it - I bent my knee a little further than 90 degrees, over and over again. There really is no bad news, just an interesting observation. While I was able to do the movement, I really couldn't believe that I was doing it - I couldn't feel my muscles working to the level that I thought necessary to make this movement. To assure me, Titia put a mirror beside me just to show that it really was me doing the work.
The "this can't be me" feeling is the same one I get after I stand up sometimes: seemingly, without any effort at all, I'm on my feet. Wow.. cool.. did I really do that? But that was so good. Hm. Maybe I am getting better.
Pompoen pie en karten voor Kerst Markt
During the afternoon, I spent time in the activity room eating pumpkin pie (which was impressively good) and making Christmas cards that will be sold at the Blixembosch Kerst Markt sometime end of November. We also ate pumpkin seeds which had been baked in the oven with herbs. Lekker (yummy) all! Oh yeah, and I had the luck and honor of carving the jack-o-lantern. Simple, classic, scary. A great afternoon.
I always knew you could kick butt!!! :) Do we get to see a photo of your masterpiece?
ReplyDeletePumpkin mania over there huh ;)? Would love to see a pix of the jack-o-lantern!
ReplyDeleteI'll see what I can do about getting a picture of the jack-0-lantern. - R
ReplyDeleteWhen you talk about being on the floor and not getting up without asking for help I immediately think of our new years celebrations. Keep up the good work.
