This weekend, we attended two birthday celebrations finally breaking the monotony that our weekends were falling under. It was really great for me and Nico seemed to enjoy himself as well.
We arrived ok but always the entrances into homes are an obstacle for the wheelchair. Public places are less of a problem, of course. But I think within a month, I'll be able to step over these obstacles without a chair.
Juul's birthday
Saturday night, Nico and I went to a birthday party for and hosted by my friend Juul. She has shown up in my life at this time as a true friend and a bond has been made, bringing us closer. So, Nico and I felt like family at her homey gathering and stayed until after 11 talking and partaking in party food and drink.
Ellen's birthday
Nico's mom, Ellen, and her family celebrated her birthday on Sunday at a place called Longhorns (related only in name and general theme to the Longhorn's in the U.S.). Like a good omnivore, I had a rib eye with baked potato. No one else really seemed to know how to order a good cut of steak (grin).
When I get them, I'll publish photos. Until then, you'll just have to use your imagination. More later.
Variety is the spice of life ;) Love ya girl!
