For those of you that don't know her, Suzanne is a true blue New Yorker and we became great friends while working at Philips Design in Atlanta. She helped me set up this site so I wanted to give her a little special attention today.
Proof positive
People ask me, "how are you doing?" The only answer is, "getting a little bit better every day."
Take typing for instance - two weeks ago I could type a few readable paragraphs but it was slow going, I made a lot of mistakes, it really tired my body and mind and I couldn't keep the weight of my hand up off the keyboard. I noticed this morning that I can easily keep up the weight up and there is much less "shaky hand" when typing. I can keep my fingers on JKL; and hit the shift key with my pinkie more easily. I still make mistakes but much less. I'll be back to dictating meetings before you know it.
Tasty weekend
The weekend was great. I think we're getting a bit more used to the situation on the home front now. I've attached some pictures of me prepping and cooking French toast over the weekend. That's me cooking over the stove and breaking eggs using the table that comes with my chair.
Additionally, are some photos of waffle making activity from last Friday here at the facility. I'm helped mix the batter and then enjoyed the waffle with fresh whipped cream.
As you can see, cooking will be a large part of my rehab post Blixembosch.
More breakfast goodies
Nico did a good job picking out a couple of cereals for my breakfast here: Sugar Smacks and Corn Flakes. Yes, the Dutch have Kellogg's cereal available to them - lucky me!
Thanks for the continued cards, letters and goodies by mail. So many visitors by post! See you in the mail and comment boxes.
Rhonda
ReplyDeleteI love checking on your progress.
You can probably type faster than I can. Keep up with lists. Without them everything gets out of WHACK...
Love & prayers Dale & Nancy
Oh man I know how good your French toast is - and that waffle looks REALLY good. I am looking forward to when you can cook some for me :) Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteHey Lady,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the b-day hugs! *squishes you*
I did the classic spa indulgence thing this afternoon ;-)
Hard to believe you like the lists better than a visual, but everyone processes input differently.
So good to see you taking command of the blog :-D (And of your limbs, of course, but that was never a doubt for me)
Let me know if you need help w/the video editing.
Take care,
~S
Hee Rhonda,
ReplyDeleteI was reading about the "simple" things you have to learn again. It's then that I realize how much we have to appreciate it. I try to, but I guess not often enough. You're an incredible fighter. :-)
