Beautiful weather, lovely thoughts

First, a big birthday shout-out to my gurl, Skiila Shin! Yo! Have a great day today. Wish we could share a nice, tall piece of choco-lot cake but, oh well. Sometimes it just beez that way. Have a good one.

Mooi weer
It's been beautiful, sun-filled weather the past three days and I've been able to enjoy them all. But weather like this, on a work-free day, with no obligations to any being but me, is better than almost anything. I can sit out in the courtyard, read a book, feel the warmth of the sun, then be refreshed by a cool wind, easily distracted by a singing bird or the autumn colors of a maple tree.

Even though I was a bit under the weather yesterday and still a bit today, I couldn't be kept from this simple pleasure.

These photos are, as you might have guessed, of the clinic's courtyard at Blixembosch (which means "thunder forest", when translated literally from Dutch to English).

There's power on the way
My sleep has all of a sudden improved this week and I'm pretty sure of the reason: the improved muscle power of my limbs. With a stronger arm and leg, I can more easily turn over with less effort. My improved arm can more easily help lift and position my affected leg as I adjust it to a new pillow position. My strengthened leg muscles need less help from my arms - last night I could almost completely lift my affected leg onto the pillow.

I hope for nights when I don't have to sleep with pillows under my leg but, until then, I can continue to see them as barometers of my growing strength.

Shake it like a Polaroid picture
An update on the "shake, turn and squeeze" post - I now can successfully shake a bottle and get the liquid moving in the right direction. Friets sauce, anyone?

Have a great weekend. More good news next week and thanks again for keeping in touch.
