Biking and bike picking
Nick told me earlier this week that some people were coming to fix up a bike for me. "Cool," I thought. I didn't think that meant two guys from the Welzorg who were going to take my measurements and not only fix up a bike for me at Blixembosch but also put in an order for a bike of my own. How exciting. They measured me up and wrote down all the specs I needed and wanted on the bike like: two clips for holding my Nordic sticks, a bag on the back for going to market and a speedometer. Depending on how quickly I can get the forms filled out, I could have a Granny green bike to enjoy by July. Cool.
Oops
Because the personal fitting of the bike took longer than I expected, I missed out on my half hour swim. And, it is my habit to wait to take a shower on the days that I swim, I took the time left to get a shower in anyway.
Doctor's visit
My first appointment of the day was actually a doctor's visit during which she let me know that, after my return from holiday, my therapy with Titia would be lessening and ergotherapy would be more focussed on getting me back to work. I guess they thought that if I can take three weeks off, I'm as good as done. I'm not sure what will happen to my other activities here - swimming, archery, painting, etc. I assume all will go on as usual but I guess I'll have to wait and see.
Mainly I think they now want to get me back into the work-a-day population. Figures. "Get the cow back into the herd and get her milked and mooing asap. She's been out wandering the pasture long enough. Too much cloud gazing and life pondering can't be good for her. Next thing you know, she's going to wake up and realize she's not a grazing animal at all but a fully formed divine being." Yes, it's better that I re-enter the matrix. Where is that little blue pill anyway?
Buiten zitten - more that just sitting on my butt
It's official. Sitting outside on the balcony is now part of my coming home ritual. I'm sure you had that understanding well in hand by now but I only recognized it fully today. All the chairs are finished and I realized I had nothing that had to be done. I could just sit down and enjoy the zon. Of course, there were things to do but it's nice to take the first hour or so and just chill.
When I was working before, I never had time for that before - I always got home too late. I only made time on weekends. "Oh times, they are a changin'." Thank God.
Your paragraph about getting the wandering cow back into the matrix was GREAT. So funny and so true about how we are expected to perform, etc.
ReplyDeleteI completely slacked off yest. after going to Michael's school to take him lunch. As Anna was taken care of, when I got home I could have gotten right back into the Matrix, but found I just did not have the drive. So I slacked and did things that were productive on another scale entirely :) Felt good!
I'd love to join you on the balcony for a cuppa in the "zon" :)
Love,
S
I like the coming home ritual. The mental picture of cow milking & mooing is a little different. I didn't know a bike needed to be fitted. Hope you enjoy the Granny green one. Sorry you had to miss your swim. Love & Prayers Dale & Nancy
