It was earlier rising this morning and it turned out for nix. But, when served lemons, you know. Turns out my ergotherapist was sick again today so I took the half hour opportunity to get in some cardio balancing out my weight training from yesterday. And I got a really good sweat in: 15 minutes on the tread and 8 minutes on the rowing machine. Awesome!
Sometimes I wonder, if I could choose, what type of cardio machine would I get for home. I love the tread for sure but I also like the full body workout of rowing. The cross trainer is cool but my legs don't work that way yet. Still want to give that a try again. And the bike... well I hope to exercise on a bike while going to the supermarket not while in my livingroom so nix on the bike, perhaps.
Today's therapy
Well, you already know my ergo therapist was ill. Titia finally relented to provide some direct stimulation to my foot/ankle. That was a nice surprise and sent a lot of tingles through my leg to my brain. She used her "encouraging" voice which was encouraging. I knew if I just pushed it a little, she's pull those secret moves she's gives me once in a while. Woohoo.
I also had painting again but before I could finish, Titia came to get me. I had every intention of finishing my Christmas painting. Next week then.
Archery was fun as usual. Missed a few, no bull's eye, and we lost both short matches. But no matter - I still get a thrill out of sending every arrow flying even if it's outside the lines.
Loopgroep was uneventful. Didn't really feel I did any better than before but it's just for practice. We did get to kick a ball. Stupid me, I tried to run once and forgot I couldn't. So, I stumbled a bit and got a good laugh out of it. No crying for this loser today! Heh.

Great to hear that some of you are inspired into your own types movements. Right, keep on keepin' on! And thanks for the tip about walking on ice though I'm kinda hoping that cold weather is over. If ifs and buts were candy and nuts, right Dad?
Now off for a post-therapy snack, going through the mail, walking the dog and then dinner. Thanks for keeping in touch!
Hey - so what exactly does the stimulation for your foot/ankle do? Is it helping reconnect the nerve impulses or is it muscle strengthening? Whatever it is - it sounds positive! :)
ReplyDeleteIf the stimulation is anything like what my chiropractor used on my back, it should be your new best friend!!
